Moisture Sensor Performance Degradation
Dryer stops with clothes still damp when using automatic (sensor) programs, but works better on timed cycles.

Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Loose sensor wiring, Faulty moisture sensor module, Poor drum contact with sensor due to small loads
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing sensor wiring.
Automatic cycles rely on accurate moisture sensing.
- Clean sensor bars: Inside the drum, locate the metal sensor strips and clean them thoroughly with a cloth and white vinegar or mild detergent. Remove all residue.
- Avoid dryer sheets: Fabric softener sheets can coat the sensors. Reduce or eliminate their use, or clean sensors regularly.
- Check wiring: Access the back of the sensor bars and ensure the wires are firmly connected and not corroded.
- Load size: Very small loads may not make consistent contact with the sensors. Add a few extra items or use timed dry for very small loads.
