Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Misaligned door latch hook, Broken door catch, Damaged door harness connector on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer or switch off the circuit breaker before any disassembly.
E01 on Blomberg dryers typically indicates the control does not see the door as properly closed.
- Check the door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure no laundry is trapped in the door seal and that the latch engages with a solid click.
- Inspect the door latch and strike: Examine the plastic/metal latch hook on the door and the strike on the cabinet. If cracked, loose, or wobbly, the door may not actuate the interlock switch. Tighten mounting screws; replace damaged parts.
- Test the door interlock switch: Remove the top panel (usually a few screws at the back) and access the door lock assembly from the front flange. Disconnect the wiring plug. With a multimeter set to continuity, check the switch terminals while opening/closing the door. If the switch does not change state, replace the door interlock assembly.
- Check wiring to the control board: Trace the harness from the door lock to the main control module. Look for pinched, burned, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug on the control board.
- Reset the dryer: After checks, reconnect power and try again. If E01 persists with a known-good lock, the control board may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
