Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, Loose sensor wiring harness, Corroded sensor connector at control board, Failed main control board temperature input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal components.

E03 indicates the control is receiving an invalid signal from a temperature sensor (NTC).

  • Locate the NTC sensor: On Blomberg vented dryers, the NTC is typically mounted on the heater housing or exhaust duct. On condenser/heat pump models, there may be an NTC on the evaporator/condenser assembly or in the drum air channel.
  • Inspect wiring and connectors: Check the two-wire harness from the NTC to the control board. Look for broken insulation, loose pins, or corrosion. Reseat the connector at both ends.
  • Test the NTC with a multimeter: Disconnect the sensor. Measure resistance at room temperature; typical NTC values are in the 5–20 kΩ range (consult service data if available). If the reading is open (infinite) or near 0 Ω, the sensor is defective and must be replaced.
  • Check for lint buildup: Heavy lint on the sensor or heater housing can cause overheating and sensor failure. Clean the area thoroughly with a vacuum and soft brush.
  • Replace the NTC if faulty: Remove mounting screw(s), swap in the new sensor, and reconnect the harness. If a known-good sensor still triggers E03, the main control board may have a defective sensor input and should be checked by a technician.
