Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Damaged motor harness, Loose tachometer connector at control board, Defective main control speed sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the motor or control board.
E10 indicates the control cannot read proper speed feedback from the drum motor.
- Access the motor: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the drive motor. Locate the small tachometer sensor on the motor shaft (often integrated into the motor on Blomberg units).
- Inspect wiring: Follow the tachometer wires from the motor to the control board. Look for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or loose connectors. Reseat the plug at the board.
- Check drum and belt: Ensure the drum turns freely and the belt is correctly tensioned. A jammed drum can cause abnormal speed readings.
- Test motor/tachometer (if possible): Some multimeters can read tachometer output; otherwise, substitution with a known-good motor is the practical test. If the motor is noisy, overheated, or has a damaged tach sensor, replace the motor assembly.
- Control board diagnosis: If wiring and motor are good but E10 persists, the control board's speed sensing circuit may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
