Possible Causes
Faulty ambient NTC sensor, Loose or damaged sensor wiring, Sensor out of calibration, Defective control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any covers.
On some Blomberg dryers, E11 refers to an auxiliary temperature sensor (ambient or intake air).
- Locate the ambient sensor: It is often mounted near the air intake or on the control panel housing. Refer to the service diagram if available.
- Inspect wiring: Check the two-wire harness from the sensor to the control board. Ensure connectors are fully seated and wires are not cut or pinched.
- Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to typical NTC values (often 5–20 kΩ). If the reading is open, shorted, or far out of range, replace the sensor.
- Check for moisture or corrosion: If the sensor is located near humid areas, ensure there is no corrosion on the terminals. Clean lightly if needed.
- Control board check: If a new sensor and good wiring do not clear E11, the control board may have a faulty sensor input and should be evaluated by a professional.
