Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust duct, Failed NTC temperature sensor, Defective high-limit thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the dryer.
- Clean lint filter: Remove the lint filter and clean thoroughly with warm water and mild detergent if coated with fabric softener residue. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Check exhaust airflow: Disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer. Vacuum lint from the outlet and hose. Inspect the wall vent and exterior flap for obstructions. Run a short cycle with the hose disconnected to see if the error clears (do not use long-term without venting).
- Inspect condenser (heat pump/condensation models): Remove the lower front panel and slide out the condenser unit (if applicable). Rinse with warm water to remove lint buildup and allow to dry.
- Test NTC sensor and thermostat: Access the heater housing (rear panel removal). Use a multimeter to check the NTC sensor resistance (typically ~5–20 kΩ at room temperature) and continuity of the high-limit thermostat. Replace any open or out-of-range components.
Persistent E02 after cleaning and sensor replacement may indicate a faulty control module or heater relay.
