Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Poor connector contact at control board, Overheated sensor from lint buildup

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before servicing.

  • Access NTC sensor: On many Bosch dryers, the NTC is mounted on the exhaust duct or heater housing behind the rear panel. Remove the rear panel screws and carefully pull the panel away.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the sensor connector and wiring for burns, cuts, or loose pins. Reseat the connector.
  • Test sensor resistance: Use a multimeter to measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Bosch specifications (commonly in the 5–20 kΩ range). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Clean around sensor: Remove lint buildup around the sensor and exhaust duct to prevent overheating.

Replace the NTC sensor if readings are out of range. If a new sensor does not clear E06, suspect a faulty control board input circuit.
