Possible Causes
Drive belt snapped, Belt slipped off motor pulley, Worn idler pulley not maintaining tension, Drum jam causing belt damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening any panels.
Steps:
- 1. Check drum rotation: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. If it spins freely but does not turn during operation, suspect the belt.
- 2. Inspect belt from top: Remove the top panel and look for the belt on top of the drum. If missing or loose, it has broken or slipped.
- 3. Access belt path: Remove the front panel or side panel to access the motor pulley and idler. Remove the old belt and install a new Brandt-compatible belt, routing it around the drum, idler, and motor pulley as per the service diagram.
- 4. Check idler pulley: Ensure the idler spins freely and provides tension. Replace if noisy or seized.
Note: Always use the correct belt length and profile specified for your Brandt model.
