How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before any disassembly. Do not bypass the door switch for operation.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Inspect the door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and you hear a distinct click. Check the plastic door latch hook on the door and the strike on the cabinet for cracks or deformation.
- 2. Test the door switch: Remove the top panel (usually 2–3 screws at the back, slide back and lift). Access the door switch from the front panel area. Disconnect the switch connector and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the actuator. Replace if it does not change state (open/closed).
- 3. Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the main control board for pinched, burnt, or broken wires. Reseat the connector on the control board.
- 4. Reset power: After any correction, reconnect power and try again. If E01 persists with a known-good switch and wiring, the input circuit on the main control board may be defective.
When to call a technician: If you confirm the door switch and wiring are good but the code remains, replacement of the main control board is recommended and should be done by a qualified technician.
