Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Remove top panel: Unscrew the rear screws and slide off the top to access the control area.
- 2. Check ribbon cables: Locate the flat ribbon or harness connecting the front control panel (buttons/knob) to the main control board. Reseat both ends carefully, ensuring they are fully inserted and not twisted.
- 3. Inspect for damage: Look for burn marks, corrosion, or cracked solder joints on the user interface board. If buttons are unresponsive or LEDs flicker, the panel may be faulty.
- 4. Power reset: After reseating connectors, reconnect power and perform a power reset by leaving the dryer unplugged for 5–10 minutes, then trying again.
When to replace: If E08 persists after checking connections, either the user interface board or the main control board must be replaced. This is best done by a technician to avoid ESD damage and miswiring.
