Possible Causes

Obstructed blower wheel, Broken blower fan blades, Loose blower on motor shaft, Faulty blower motor (on models with separate fan motor)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. Sharp objects may be trapped in the blower housing; wear gloves.

Steps:

  • 1. Access blower housing: On many Brandt dryers, the blower is located behind the front lower panel or behind the rear panel. Remove the appropriate panel to access it.
  • 2. Inspect for obstructions: Look for socks, lint clumps, or debris inside the blower wheel. Remove any foreign objects carefully.
  • 3. Check blower condition: Spin the blower by hand. It should rotate freely without wobbling. If blades are broken or the hub is cracked, replace the blower wheel.
  • 4. Check attachment: Ensure the blower is firmly attached to the motor shaft (set screw or clip intact). Tighten if loose.
  • 5. Separate fan motor (if equipped): Some condenser/heat pump models use a separate fan motor. Test for power at the motor during operation (qualified persons only). Replace the fan motor if it does not run with correct supply.

Note: Persistent E09 after mechanical repair may indicate a control board fault monitoring the airflow or fan speed.
