Bush dryer trips the household circuit breaker or RCD when starting or during operation.

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Unplug the dryer and keep it disconnected until the fault is found.

• Inspect mains cable: Check for cuts or crushed sections. Replace if damaged.
• Check for moisture: Look for signs of water ingress around the base, pump, and wiring. Dry thoroughly and fix any leaks.
• Test heater to earth: With a multimeter, check resistance between heater terminals and chassis. A low reading indicates a shorted element that must be replaced.
• Motor insulation: If the heater is fine, the motor may be leaking to earth and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
