Bush condenser or heat pump dryer will not start; display shows E01 and the start button does nothing or beeps.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels or working on wiring.

• Check the door is fully closed: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure no clothing is trapped in the door seal preventing it from latching.
• Inspect the door latch hook: Look at the metal or plastic hook on the door and the catch on the cabinet. If the hook is bent, cracked, or loose, the door switch may not engage. Tighten screws or replace the latch if damaged.
• Test the door switch: With power unplugged, remove the top cover (usually a few screws at the back) and access the door switch behind the front panel. Disconnect the switch connector and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the switch. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
• Check wiring at the hinge: Inspect the wiring loom running to the door area for broken or pinched wires, especially where the door opens and closes. Repair any damaged wires with proper crimp connectors and insulation.
• If E01 persists: After confirming the door switch and wiring are good, the fault may be on the main control PCB input circuit. At this point, replacement of the control board or professional diagnosis is recommended.
