Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer coil (if fitted), Loose or damaged motor connector, Broken drive belt causing no tacho pulses, Faulty main control PCB speed sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any covers or touching internal parts.
- Check the drive belt: Remove the top and rear panels to inspect the belt. If it is broken or off the drum, replace it. A non-rotating drum can trigger rotation error codes.
- Inspect motor connections: Locate the motor and ensure all connectors are firmly seated. Look for signs of overheating or corrosion on the pins.
- Examine the tachometer (if present): Some Bush motors have a small tacho coil on the rear of the motor. Ensure it is securely mounted and its wiring is intact. Replace the motor assembly if the tacho is defective and not separately replaceable.
- Spin test: With power off, rotate the drum by hand. It should move freely without grinding or binding. Mechanical resistance can overload the motor and cause E06.
- Test run: Reassemble enough to safely run the dryer with the panels in place. If E06 persists despite a good belt and motor connections, the control PCB may not be reading the tacho correctly and may need replacement.
