Possible Causes
Water leak from condenser housing or hoses, Blocked condensate channel overflowing into base, Stuck or activated base tray float switch, Cracked sump or pump housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Be prepared for water spillage when tilting or opening the base.
- Check for visible leaks: Look around the front lower area and underneath the dryer for signs of water. Remove the lower front panel if accessible.
- Empty the base tray: Carefully tilt the dryer slightly backwards or forwards (with assistance) to allow any water in the base tray to drain out onto towels. Do not tip excessively to avoid damaging internal components.
- Inspect the float switch: In the base, locate the float and micro-switch assembly. Ensure the float moves freely and is not jammed by lint or debris. Clean the area thoroughly.
- Check condensate hoses and joints: Follow the small hoses from the sump/pump to the water tank. Tighten any loose clamps and replace cracked hoses.
- Clean the sump area: Remove lint and sludge from the sump where water collects before being pumped. Blockages here can cause overflow into the base.
- Test for recurrence: After drying the base and fixing leaks, reassemble and run a short cycle while monitoring for drips. If E13 returns, a hidden crack or pump housing fault may require part replacement.
