Possible Causes

Open thermal fuse in heater circuit, Faulty door safety interlock chain, Broken wiring in safety loop, Defective safety input on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect from mains before testing continuity on safety devices.

  • Check thermal fuse: Locate the non-resettable thermal fuse on or near the heater housing. Test for continuity. Replace if open, and investigate causes of overheating (blocked airflow).
  • Inspect door safety wiring: Trace the wiring from the door switch through any safety thermostats back to the PCB. Look for breaks, burns, or loose connectors.
  • Test door switch again: Even if the door appears to close, confirm the door switch operates correctly with a multimeter.
  • Repair wiring faults: Use proper insulated connectors and heat-shrink to repair any damaged wires in the safety loop.
  • If E18 persists: The safety input circuit on the main PCB may be defective, requiring board replacement.
