Dryer leaves black or brown marks on clothing

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disassembly.

• Inspect drum interior: Look for rough spots, sticky residue, or discoloration on the drum. Clean with a mild detergent and soft cloth.
• Check drum seals and glides: Remove the front panel and inspect the felt seals and glides. Replace if worn, torn, or contaminated with grease.
• Inspect rear bearing (if equipped): Check for grease leakage or excessive play. Replace the rear drum bearing kit if worn.
• Test with old towels: After repairs and cleaning, run a few cycles with old towels to ensure no further staining before drying good clothes.
