Dryer makes a loud thumping or banging noise, especially with heavy loads

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening any panels.

• Check load: Stop the dryer and redistribute the load. Overloading or a single heavy item can cause banging.
• Inspect drum interior: Look for loose baffles (ribs) inside the drum. Tighten or replace if they move.
• Access rollers: Remove the top and front panels, then lift the drum to inspect the rear rollers.
• Replace flat-spotted rollers: If rollers have flat spots or cause rhythmic thumping when spun, replace them as a set.
• Check for foreign objects: Inspect around the drum edges and felt seals for coins or other objects and remove them.
• Reassemble and test: Reinstall all parts and run a test cycle to confirm the noise is resolved.
