How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disassembly.
- Check drum rotation: Try turning the drum by hand. If it is very hard to turn, inspect rollers, idler, and blower for obstructions.
- Inspect belt and idler: Remove the front panel and check that the belt is intact and properly tensioned by the idler pulley.
- Check blower wheel: Inspect the blower wheel for foreign objects or binding.
- Test motor: If the mechanical components are free but the motor just hums and stops, the motor may be defective and require replacement.
