Possible Causes
Loose UI harness connection, Failed user interface board, Faulty main control board, Moisture intrusion into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or console.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker or unplug the dryer for 5 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes this clears transient communication errors.
- Inspect control panel: Check for signs of moisture, spills, or physical damage on the touch panel or knobs. Allow any moisture to dry completely.
- Access UI board: Remove the top panel and then the control console screws to access the user interface board and wiring.
- Check harness connections: Reseat the ribbon cable and harness connectors between the UI board and the main control board. Look for bent pins or corrosion.
- Visual inspection: Examine both boards for burnt components or cracked solder joints. Replace the affected board if damage is visible.
- Board replacement: If reseating connectors does not resolve E08, replace the user interface board first (most common), then the main control board if needed. Follow Café service documentation for correct part numbers.
