E11
Café
Restricted Airflow / Vent Blockage Detected
Dryer shows E11 and may shut off unexpectedly; sometimes associated with long vent runs

Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust duct, Crushed flexible vent hose, Blocked exterior vent hood or damper
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disconnecting the vent hose.
- Clean lint filter: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter with warm water and mild detergent if coated with fabric softener residue. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Inspect vent hose: Pull the dryer away from the wall. Disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and the wall. Remove lint and debris using a vacuum and vent brush. Replace any crushed or excessively long flexible duct with smooth metal ducting.
- Check exterior vent: Go outside and inspect the vent hood. Make sure the flap opens freely and is not blocked by lint, nests, or snow/ice.
- Test airflow: Run the dryer briefly with the vent hose disconnected (exhausting into a safe, lint-controlled area) to confirm strong airflow from the outlet. If airflow is weak with the hose removed, inspect the internal blower housing for obstructions.
- Reassemble: Reconnect the vent with minimal bends and the shortest practical run. Clear E11 by cycling power and run a test load.
