Possible Causes
Stuck touchpad button, Damaged touch membrane, Loose ribbon cable between UI and control, Liquid spill into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control console.
- Check for stuck keys: Press each button on the control panel several times. If any feel stuck or do not click, the keypad may be failing.
- Dry moisture: If a spill occurred, allow the panel to dry completely for 24 hours with power disconnected.
- Access UI board: Remove the top panel and then the screws securing the control console. Carefully tilt the console forward.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Reseat the flat ribbon cable between the keypad/touch panel and the UI board. Ensure it is fully inserted and locked.
- Replace UI assembly: If E14 persists and specific buttons do not respond, replace the user interface assembly or touch panel as a unit, using the correct Café part number.
