Possible Causes
Failed inlet thermistor, Shorted thermistor wiring, Thermistor dislodged from mounting, Control board sensor circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels.
- Locate inlet thermistor: On many Café dryers, the inlet thermistor is located near the air intake or front bulkhead.
- Inspect mounting: Ensure the thermistor is properly clipped or screwed into place and not hanging loose.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness for pinched or broken wires and reseat the connector at both the thermistor and control board.
- Test thermistor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Café specifications. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- Control board: If a known-good thermistor and wiring are present but E17 remains, the main control board may need replacement.
