• Inspect the door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no clothing is trapped in the seal and that the latch hook fully engages the catch.
• Check the door latch hook: With power off, examine the metal/plastic hook on the door. If it is loose, bent, or broken, it will not actuate the door switch and must be replaced.
• Test the door interlock switch: Remove the top cover (usually rear screws, slide back and lift). Access the door lock assembly from the front panel area. Disconnect the connector and test the switch with a multimeter for continuity when the door is closed.
• Inspect wiring: Look for broken or pinched wires between the door lock and the main control board, especially around the hinge area.
• Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty parts, reassemble panels, plug the dryer back in, and start a short cycle to confirm the error is cleared.

When to stop: If the door appears fine but the error persists and you are not comfortable testing live circuits, contact a qualified Candy service technician.
