Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor on heater housing, Shorted NTC sensor, Damaged NTC wiring harness, Corroded connector at main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool completely before working near the heater assembly.
Steps:
- Access the heater assembly: On many Candy dryers, remove the rear panel to access the heater box. The NTC sensor is usually clipped or screwed into the heater duct.
- Visual inspection: Check the sensor body and wiring for signs of burning, melting, or mechanical damage.
- Test the NTC: Disconnect the sensor plug and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, most Candy NTCs read in the tens of kΩ (e.g., 15–20 kΩ). Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a fault.
- Check wiring continuity: Test from the NTC connector back to the main PCB plug for continuity and wiggle the harness to detect intermittent breaks.
- Replace if faulty: Fit a genuine or compatible Candy NTC sensor, ensuring it is firmly seated in the heater duct for accurate temperature sensing.
Final check: Reassemble, clean the lint filter and vents, restore power, and run a warm cycle to confirm E03 is cleared.
