Caple dryer will not start; display shows E01 and cycle will not begin when Start/Pause is pressed.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels or touching internal wiring.

• Check the door is fully closed: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no clothing is trapped in the door seal or latch area.
• Inspect the door latch: Check the plastic latch on the door and the strike on the cabinet for cracks or deformation. If the latch does not engage firmly, the interlock will not signal 'door closed'. Replace the latch or strike if worn.
• Test the door switch: With power disconnected, remove the front panel or top (depending on model) to access the door interlock assembly. Disconnect the connector and test the switch with a multimeter for continuity when the door is closed. If it does not change state, replace the door interlock assembly.
• Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness from the door lock to the main control PCB for broken, pinched, or burnt wires, especially around the door hinge area. Repair or replace damaged wiring and ensure connectors are fully seated.
• Reset power: After any corrections, reconnect power and try a short cycle. If E01 persists and the door switch tests good, the door input circuit on the main control PCB may be faulty and the board may need replacement by a qualified technician.
