Possible Causes
Open-circuit NTC sensor on heater duct, Shorted NTC sensor, Loose or corroded NTC connector, Faulty main control PCB temperature input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the rear panel or heater assembly.
- Locate the NTC sensor: On most Caple dryers, the NTC (temperature sensor) is mounted on or near the heater housing or air duct. Remove the rear panel to access it.
- Inspect wiring and connector: Check the NTC wiring harness for damage, burns, or loose connections. Reseat the connector firmly on both the sensor and PCB ends.
- Test the NTC: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Typical values are between 5–20 kΩ depending on model. If it reads open (infinite) or near 0 Ω, the sensor is faulty and must be replaced.
- Check for short to chassis: Ensure the NTC wires are not pinched or touching metal parts causing a short.
- Replace the NTC sensor: If readings are out of specification, install a new Caple-compatible NTC sensor, ensuring good thermal contact with the duct or heater housing.
- Re-test: Reassemble, restore power, and run a timed heat cycle. If E03 persists with a known-good sensor, the main control PCB may require replacement.
