Possible Causes
Blocked internal air passages, Failed cooling fan (on heat pump models), Repeated tripping of safety thermostat, Faulty overheat sensor or wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the dryer. Allow it to cool completely before working on it.
- Clean all filters and condenser: Remove lint from the main filter and clean the condenser/heat exchanger thoroughly as per the user manual.
- Inspect internal airflow: Remove panels to check for lint build-up around the heater, fan, and ducts. Vacuum out all debris.
- Check cooling fan (if fitted): On heat pump models, ensure the cooling fan runs freely and is not obstructed. Replace the fan motor if seized or not running.
- Reset manual thermostats: Some safety thermostats have a manual reset button. Locate on the heater housing or duct and press gently to reset if tripped. If it trips again, investigate the root cause of overheating.
- Test thermostats and sensors: Use a multimeter to check continuity and resistance of overheat thermostats and sensors. Replace any faulty components with Caple-approved parts.
