How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from the mains before removing the control panel.
- Check for stuck buttons: Press each button on the control panel several times. If any feel stuck or do not click, the fascia or button may be jammed. Clean around the buttons and ensure no detergent or moisture has entered.
- Inspect selector knob: Rotate the program selector through all positions. If it feels loose, skips positions, or does not register changes, the encoder may be worn.
- Access UI board: Remove the control fascia to expose the user interface PCB. Check the ribbon cable and connectors for secure fit.
- Look for damage: Inspect the UI board for corrosion (from moisture), cracked solder joints, or burnt components. Replace the UI board if damaged.
- Reassemble and test: After cleaning and reseating connectors, restore power and test all controls. If E16 persists, a new user interface PCB is likely required.
