Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer coil (if fitted), Broken or loose tachometer wiring, Slipping or broken drive belt, Defective motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the top, rear, or side panels.
- Check the drive belt: Inspect the belt for breakage, glazing, or excessive slack. Replace if damaged or slipping.
- Verify drum rotation: Turn the drum by hand to ensure it rotates smoothly and is not obstructed.
- Inspect tachometer wiring: On motors with a tachometer coil, locate the small sensor at the rear of the motor and check its connector and wiring harness for damage.
- Test tachometer: Using a multimeter, measure resistance across the tachometer coil. An open circuit indicates a failed sensor; replace the motor or tachometer assembly as designed for your Caple model.
- PCB check: If the belt and tachometer are good, the motor control circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
