Possible Causes
Open motor winding, Faulty motor start capacitor (if used), Defective motor relay on PCB, Broken motor harness connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the motor or control board.
- Check for error codes: Even if none are displayed, attempt to enter diagnostic mode if available to see stored faults.
- Inspect motor harness: Access the motor and check that the connector is firmly seated and wires are intact.
- Test motor windings: Disconnect the motor and measure winding resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed drive motor that must be replaced.
- Start capacitor (if fitted): Some motors use a start capacitor. Inspect for bulging or leakage and replace the motor capacitor if defective.
- Control relay: If the motor and capacitor are good, the motor relay on the main PCB may be faulty. Board replacement is typically required.
