Possible Causes
Worn drum support rollers, Dry or worn idler pulley bearing, Worn drum front felt seal, Foreign object trapped between drum and front panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before disassembling. Wear gloves to protect against sharp edges.
- Identify noise location: Run the dryer briefly with the top panel removed (only if safe and with extreme caution) to localize the noise to front, rear, or motor area. Then disconnect power.
- Inspect rollers: Remove the drum to access the drum support rollers. Replace any that are flat-spotted, cracked, or noisy when spun by hand.
- Check idler pulley: Spin the idler pulley. If it squeals or feels rough, replace the idler pulley assembly.
- Examine felt seals: Inspect the front and rear drum felt seals for wear or displacement. Replace if torn or heavily worn.
- Remove foreign objects: Look for coins, bra wires, or other items caught in the drum gap and remove them.
