Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the rear or side panels. Heating components can have sharp edges.

• Confirm symptom: Run the dryer for 5–10 minutes on a high heat setting. Carefully feel for warm air at the exhaust or inside the drum. If completely cold, proceed.
• Check lint and airflow: Clean the lint filter and ensure the exhaust duct is not blocked. Poor airflow can cause thermostats to trip.
• Test thermal cut-out: Access the heater housing and locate the thermal cut-out / high-limit thermostat. Test for continuity. Replace if open.
• Test heating element: Disconnect the element and measure resistance. An open circuit means the heating element must be replaced with a De Dietrich-compatible part.
• Inspect wiring: Check all heater circuit connectors for looseness or burning. Repair or replace as needed.
