Dryer stops shortly after starting an automatic (sensor) program but works in timed mode.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing wiring. Cleaning sensor bars can be done with power off and door open.

• Clean sensor bars: Thoroughly clean the moisture sensor bars inside the drum with vinegar or alcohol to remove residue.
• Check wiring: Inspect the sensor harness for breaks or loose connections at the bars and control board.
• Drum grounding: Ensure the drum has a good ground connection to the chassis, as some systems rely on this for sensing.
• Test in auto mode: After cleaning, test an automatic cycle with a properly loaded drum. If the issue persists, the control board's sensing circuit may be faulty.
