Dryer takes too long to dry clothes; cycles complete but laundry is still slightly damp.

Possible Causes

Restricted airflow due to lint buildup, Partially blocked condenser unit, Dirty moisture sensor bars, Weak heating element output

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels or condenser units. Allow hot components to cool.

  • Clean lint filter thoroughly: Wash the lint filter with warm water and mild detergent if coated. Dry completely before use.
  • Check venting (vented models): Inspect and clean the entire exhaust duct and outside vent hood. Replace crushed or excessively long hoses.
  • Clean condenser (condenser/heat pump models): Remove the condenser from the front access and rinse under running water until clear. Clean surrounding air channels.
  • Clean moisture sensor bars: Wipe the sensor bars inside the drum with vinegar or alcohol to remove residue that can misread dryness.
  • Load size and sorting: Avoid overloading and mix heavy and light fabrics appropriately. If performance is still poor, test heater output and thermostats.
