Dryer will not start; display shows E01 immediately after pressing Start.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer or switch off the circuit breaker before any disassembly. Do not bypass the door lock for testing while running with panels removed.

• Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no laundry is trapped in the door seal and that the door clicks positively when closed.
• Inspect door latch hook: Examine the metal or plastic latch hook on the door. If bent, cracked, or loose, it may not engage the interlock. Tighten mounting screws or replace the latch hook if damaged.
• Test door interlock switch: Remove the top cover (usually rear screws) and front panel as needed to access the door lock assembly. Disconnect the dryer from power. Use a multimeter to test continuity of the door switch terminals when the door is closed. Replace the De Dietrich door lock / interlock assembly if it does not switch correctly.
• Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the main control board for broken wires, loose connectors, or signs of overheating. Reseat connectors firmly.
• Control board check: If the door lock tests good and wiring is intact, the main PCB may not be detecting the closed signal. Visual inspection for burnt components is possible, but board-level repair should be left to a qualified technician. Replacement of the main control board is often required.
