Moisture Sensor Circuit Fault
Dryer shows E08 and may not start or may stop shortly after starting; often related to moisture sensing.

Possible Causes
Dirty or coated drum moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring, Loose connector at control board, Faulty moisture sensing module on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal wiring. Cleaning the sensor bars can be done with power off and door open.
- Clean sensor bars: Locate the two metal strips (moisture sensor bars) inside the drum, usually near the lint filter opening. Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and a bit of white vinegar or rubbing alcohol to remove fabric softener and detergent residue.
- Inspect for damage: Check that the sensor bars are not cracked or loose. Ensure they are not covered by plastic film or tape.
- Check wiring: From the front or bottom access, trace the wires from the sensor bars to the control board. Look for breaks, loose connectors, or corrosion. Repair or replace the moisture sensor harness if damaged.
- Control board test: If the bars and wiring are intact and clean, the moisture sensing circuit on the main control board may be faulty. This typically requires board replacement by a professional.
- Test in timed mode: Try running a timed (non-auto) cycle. If the dryer works normally in timed mode but not in auto, this further points to a moisture sensing issue.
