Possible Causes
Loose harness between power board and UI board, Faulty communication IC on PCB, Electrical noise or surge damage, Incorrectly seated module after previous repair
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing any electronic modules.
- Reseat connectors: Open the top cover and control panel. Identify all multi-pin connectors between the power module and user interface module. Unplug and firmly reconnect them.
- Inspect harness: Look for pinched or damaged communication cables, especially where they pass through metal openings.
- Check for corrosion: If the dryer is in a humid environment, inspect connectors for corrosion. Clean gently with contact cleaner if needed.
- Module replacement: If E17 persists, one of the modules may be defective. Replacement of the affected board should follow De Dietrich service procedures and may require configuration or coding.
