Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Damaged door wiring harness at hinge area, Faulty main control PCB door input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door switch for normal operation.
- Check the door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure the latch hook fully engages the door catch. Look for cracked or loose plastic on the door latch.
- Inspect the door switch actuator: With the door open, locate the door switch plunger in the cabinet front. Press it in by hand; it should click distinctly. If it feels loose, sticks, or does not click, the door interlock switch may be faulty.
- Test the door switch (if you have a meter): Remove the top panel (usually 2–3 screws at the back) and gently pull the control panel forward to access the door switch wiring. Disconnect the door switch connector. With the switch pressed, check for continuity across the switch terminals. Replace the door interlock switch assembly if it is open when pressed.
- Inspect wiring: Check the wiring harness from the door switch to the main control PCB for pinched, broken, or burned wires, especially near the door hinge area.
- If all checks pass: The door input circuit on the main control PCB may be defective. At this point, replacement of the control board is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician.
