Possible Causes

Failed drive motor, Worn or jammed drum belt, Seized drum support rollers, Faulty motor relay on main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels. Moving parts can cause injury.

  • Check for drum obstruction: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly with moderate resistance. If it is very stiff or jammed, suspect seized drum support rollers or a foreign object stuck between drum and cabinet.
  • Inspect the belt: Remove the top panel and then the rear or front panel (depending on model). Verify the drum drive belt is intact, properly routed around the motor pulley and idler pulley, and not heavily frayed or broken.
  • Listen for motor hum: With panels reinstalled enough for safe operation, briefly power the dryer and start a cycle. If you hear a humming noise but the drum does not turn, the drive motor may be seized or the start winding has failed.
  • Check motor and relay connections: Unplug the dryer again. Inspect the motor wiring harness and the motor relay connections on the main control PCB for loose or burned terminals.
  • Replace faulty parts: If the belt is broken, replace the belt. If the drum is hard to turn and rollers are worn or seized, replace the drum support rollers and idler pulley. If the motor hums and does not start even with a free-spinning drum, replace the drive motor.
