Possible Causes
Loose UI harness connector, Faulty user interface PCB, Damaged ribbon cable between UI and main board, Main control PCB communication fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Leave the dryer unplugged for at least 5 minutes to allow the electronics to fully discharge. Plug back in and see if E12 clears.
- Inspect UI connections: Remove the top panel and gently release the control fascia. Check the ribbon cable or harness between the user interface PCB and the main control PCB. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Check for moisture or corrosion: Look for signs of moisture ingress behind the control panel or corrosion on connectors. Dry the area and clean light corrosion with contact cleaner.
- Replace faulty UI board: If buttons or display segments do not respond correctly and wiring is intact, replace the user interface PCB.
- Main board replacement: If a known-good UI still shows E12, the communication circuit on the main control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
