Dryer shows E18 and may not heat correctly on heat pump models.

• Check basic airflow and filters: Before assuming a compressor fault, clean all filters, the condenser unit, and ensure good airflow around the dryer.
• Listen for compressor operation: During a cycle, you should hear the compressor start after a short delay. If it never starts or clicks repeatedly, there may be a compressor or start relay issue.
• Inspect compressor wiring: Access the compressor compartment and check that all connectors to the compressor and its start relay are secure and not burned.
• Do not attempt refrigerant repairs: If E18 persists and the compressor does not run or the unit does not heat, contact a qualified refrigeration technician. The heat pump module or compressor may need replacement and the system recharged.
