Possible Causes
Broken drive belt, Slipped belt off motor pulley, Worn idler pulley, Stripped motor pulley
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. The drum is heavy; support it when removing the front panel.
- Check drum rotation by hand: Open the door and spin the drum. If it spins very freely and quietly, the belt may be broken.
- Access belt and pulleys: Remove the top and front panels to expose the drum and belt path.
- Inspect belt: Look for breaks, cracks, or glazing. Replace the belt if damaged or missing.
- Check idler pulley and motor pulley: Ensure the idler pulley spins freely and the motor pulley is secure on the shaft. Replace worn components.
- Reinstall belt: Route the new belt around the drum, motor pulley, and idler according to the routing diagram. Reassemble and test.
