Dryer produces a loud banging or thumping noise as the drum turns.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening any panels.

• Check load: Stop the dryer and redistribute the load. Large items like duvets can cause thumping if balled up.
• Inspect drum interior: Look for loose baffles (ribs) inside the drum. Tighten or replace if they move.
• Access rollers and bearings: Remove the front and possibly rear panels to inspect drum rollers and rear bearing (if fitted). Replace any rollers with flat spots or excessive play.
• Check for foreign objects: Inspect the gap between the drum and front/rear bulkheads for coins or other items causing impact noises.
