Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Damaged door lock wiring harness, Faulty main control board (PCB)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Fagor dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door switch for normal operation.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure the latch hook fully engages the door catch. Inspect for cracks or play in the latch.
- Inspect door switch actuator: With the door open, locate the door switch plunger. Press it by hand; you should hear a distinct click. If it feels loose or does not click, the switch may be faulty.
- Test continuity: Remove the top panel (usually 2–3 screws at the back) and access the door switch wiring. Disconnect the switch connector and test the switch with a multimeter in continuity mode while pressing the actuator. Replace the switch if it does not open/close properly.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the main PCB for broken wires, burn marks, or loose connectors. Reseat all plugs firmly.
- If all checks pass: The main control board relay input for the door switch may be defective. Replacement of the PCB is typically required and is best done by a qualified technician.
