Possible Causes
Open heating element, Burned heater wiring or connector, Failed heater relay on main PCB, Tripped thermal fuse on heater housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Heating components can retain heat; allow time to cool.
- Access heater assembly: Remove the rear panel to access the heater housing on most vented Fagor dryers. On some condenser models, access may be from the front or side.
- Visual inspection: Look for burned connectors, discolored wires, or visible breaks in the heater coil through the housing slots.
- Test heating element: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance across the element. A typical value is 20–40 Ω; infinite resistance indicates an open element that must be replaced.
- Check thermal fuse: Locate the thermal fuse on or near the heater housing. Test for continuity; if open, replace it and investigate airflow issues that may have caused overheating.
- Inspect PCB heater relay: If the element and fuse are good, remove the control panel and inspect the PCB for burned heater relay contacts or tracks. Relay or board replacement may be required.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty parts, reassemble panels, restore power, and run a timed heat cycle to confirm proper operation.
