Possible Causes

Loose connection between UI board and main PCB, Faulty program selector knob or encoder, Damaged UI PCB, Corrupted communication bus

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel. Avoid flexing ribbon cables excessively.

  • Inspect selector knob: Check that the program knob is not cracked and that it engages the shaft properly. Replace the knob if it slips or is broken.
  • Access UI board: Remove the control panel fascia. Inspect the user interface PCB and its connectors to the main control board.
  • Reseat cables: Carefully unplug and reinsert ribbon cables and harness connectors between the UI and main PCB. Ensure they are fully latched.
  • Check for moisture or corrosion: Look for signs of liquid ingress on the UI board. Clean minor corrosion with isopropyl alcohol; replace the board if damage is extensive.
  • Test operation: Reassemble and power on. If E12 persists and other components test good, the UI PCB or main PCB may need replacement.
