Possible Causes
Full or incorrectly seated water tank, Faulty water level sensor or float, Blocked tank inlet, Damaged tank presence switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing internal panels. Water spills can create slip hazards; wipe up any leaks.
- Empty and reseat tank: Remove the condensate water tank, empty it completely, and reinstall it firmly until it clicks into place.
- Check tank inlet: Inspect the opening where water enters the tank for lint or debris. Clean thoroughly.
- Inspect float and sensor: On some Fagor models, a float in the tank or sump triggers a level switch. Ensure the float moves freely and the switch operates (continuity test).
- Check tank presence switch: Some dryers use a microswitch to detect the tank. Verify that the switch is actuated when the tank is inserted and that wiring is intact.
- Test operation: After cleaning and checks, run a cycle. If E18 persists, the level sensor or control board input may be faulty and require replacement.
