Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any panels. The drum is heavy and may shift when the belt is removed.
- 1. Confirm symptom: Start a cycle and listen. If you hear the motor but the drum does not move, stop and unplug the dryer.
- 2. Access drum and belt: Remove the top and front panels to expose the drum. Inspect the belt around the drum and motor pulley.
- 3. Replace belt: If the belt is broken or badly worn, remove it and install a new Fisher & Paykel-compatible drive belt, routing it correctly around the motor and idler pulley.
- 4. Check idler pulley: Ensure the idler pulley spins freely and applies proper tension. Replace if noisy or seized.
