Overdrying / Drum Reversal or Cool-Down Issue
Dryer runs but clothes come out very wrinkled or creased
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Auto-dry setting not used correctly, Faulty moisture sensor causing overdrying, Drum not reversing (on reversing models), Cool-down phase not operating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing sensors or control boards.
- 1. Adjust settings: Use appropriate fabric settings and avoid very high heat for delicate items. Remove clothes promptly at end of cycle.
- 2. Clean moisture sensors: Clean the internal moisture sensor bars with rubbing alcohol to ensure accurate sensing.
- 3. Check drum reversal: On models with reversing action, observe whether the drum changes direction periodically. If not, the control or motor may be at fault and require service.
- 4. Verify cool-down: Ensure the dryer runs a cool-down period at the end of the cycle. If it stops abruptly while still hot, the control board or thermostat may be malfunctioning.
